| London packaging waste management conference announced
A new one-day waste management event focusing on packaging has been announced by organisers letsrecycle.com. Called ‘Fresh Horizons for Packaging Waste’, the conference will take place on September 30th at the Wellcome Collection, a prestigious venue in London. The event is designed to explore recent policy developments for packaging waste, as well as looking at targets for the next ten years and a number of possible ways to achieve them. A number of speakers have been lined up to discuss the financial pressures involved with meeting packaging waste targets and adhering to new policies, such as:• Judicaelle Hammond – Head of Producer Responsibility at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) • Greg Wood – Packaging Programme Manager at the Waste & Resources Action Programme (WRAP) • Dick Searle – CEO of the Packaging Federation • Andy Doran – Manager at aluminium recycling firm Novelis • Adrian Hawkes - Director of Policy at compliance organisation Valpak The conference is aimed at all those in the packaging industry, from producers, businesses and local authorities to reprocessing and waste management firms.
