Ardmore Construction, a major player in the design and build of high rise apartment blocks, hotels and industrial parks, was facing escalating waste management costs. Waste materials from 2 of its 12 construction sites were necessitating 10 costly collections per week. One of the main concerns however, was the disruption caused by the frequency of the uplift and the inevitable hazards it presented to these very busy construction sites. There was also uncertainty whether the waste disposal containers were sufficiently full as to merit an uplift, and there was a lack of awareness as to a more suitable means of waste compaction to reduce air pockets. The SolutionACM delivered the most productive and cost effective solution to secure the contract and solve the waste management problem. The installation of an ACM Mammoth Roll Packer Compactor on each site reduced the number of waste material collections to just 3 per week. Not only can the Roll Packer apply an astonishing 8 tonnes of pressure per square inch to greatly reduce air pockets, it can also handle construction waste types other compactors cannot. The benefit of this gives Ardmore maximum container payloads. The end result gave an overall reduction in waste removal costs of 70%. Even though the ACM Mammoth Roll Packer is very simple to operate, full training was given so Ardmore's own employees could further train their own colleagues. By utilising its own plant facility, Ardmore is able to use these two huge Roll Packers innovatively and effectively across all sites. Ardmore also has the reassurance of ACM's after sales service Client CommentsConstruction Manager Dennis Green saw the real benefits ACM's solution offered. "We were originally recommended to contact ACM by our skip hire company and we are very pleased they did. Basically, ACM offered us 'the bit of kit' we needed and it's simple." |
