The £34 million Doncaster Racecourse development wanted to improve its environmental performance, and needed to have an effective waste management programme in place for its opening meeting.

ACM was chosen as the Racecourse’s waste management partner because it was the only company that could effectively implement a ‘Complete Care Programme’ and in time for the main opening event.

Installed were three portable high-density compactors for general and stable waste, a range of industrial wheelie bins and a mill sized baler for cardboard recycling. Collections have also been organised by ACM.

The waste and recycling operation is proving such a success that Doncaster Racecourse is now seen as one of the greenest and most environmentally friendly racecourses in the UK.

“Following the completion of the refurbishment of the racecourse it was vital that we had our waste management programme in place for the opening meeting, but this was quite a challenge because there was only a very small time window.

ACM was the only waste management company we spoke to that could meet the challenge and on time. We realise that good waste management practices are a positive way of reducing our environmental impact and we’re delighted that ACM are able to help us achieve this.”
