Company History

In 1991 ACM was formed by Andy Jacobs and Barry Bolton current day CEO and Chairman respectively, to help high volume waste producers save money and comply with new environmental legislation. These savings were generated by the introduction of recycling plus reducing costly waste journeys through the use of high performance compaction; we were also able to generate valuable revenue streams from recyclables such as cardboard and plastics.

As environmental technology has progressed in recent years, along with ACM’s experience of recycling markets, ACM has expanded its thinking to include an innovative array of recycling/waste products, services and solutions. The latest and most exciting of which is ACM’s new self-contained biomass waste-to-energy system (funded by the Governments renewable heat incentive RHI) that converts all types of organic (food) waste to a biomass fuel that can be used to provide energy.

Furthermore, as part of ACM’s goal to evolve its range of products/services from waste to energy, ACM has created ACM Renewable Energy Ltd to offer a complete turn key Government funded solar power solution for organisations to make the most of, arguably, the biggest wasted resource on the planet; - Solar energy.

Therefore, 2011 not only marks our 20th Anniversary in the waste sector, but also ACM’s continued growth and confirmation as Environmental Champions, both in terms of its own actions but more importantly in helping you maximize your organisations environmental potential.
