The earth receives more energy from the sun in just one hour than the world uses in a whole year. So we hope that by now you can see, like ACM, that when opportunity comes knocking it is important to take it. The use of renewable energy gives us the opportunity to knock out the need for fossil fuels forever.
Unlike fossil fuels, which damage our environment, drawing on ever finite resources that will eventually become too expensive to retrieve, renewable energy sources such as Solar are generally unlimited and have a virtually zero carbon footprint.
Conventional energy sources (coal, oil and gas), that currently supply most of the worlds electricity needs face a number of challenges that make their long term use unsustainable. The reality is that rising prices, security concerns over dependence on imports from a diminishing number of countries which have large fossil fuel supplies, mounting environmental concerns over pollution as well as the associated climate change risks, mean that the world has to embrace clean environmentally friendly alternatives and quickly.
For this reason Government, businesses and consumers are increasingly supporting the development of alternative energy sources and new technologies for power generation. Renewable energy sources such as solar, biomass and wind-power are emerging as the key alternatives which address some of these concerns.
